Hi,
I'm trying to get a printer set up in a old machine. The problem is that the LPT ports aren't recognized, and the printer has only a parallel connecting wire. I tried to manually install the port in windows (add new hardware) and it didn't work. I tried booting in safe mode, no help there either. I rebooted many times, no luck.
Is there any explanation why this would happen... other than a burnout in the port on the motherboard? The motherboard in that system is an Intel 440LX. It is a pentium system with 128mb ram. Please help - desperate.
Also, if it's a physical problem with the motherboard, what would be the easiest/cheapest way to get it fixed?
Thanks.
