While I know the combination of the words "eVGA," "Microcenter," and "deal" aren't exactly words that go together (especially considering the 'free mobo' deal a month or two back), the most recent circular for MC has the eVGA 680i board listed for 179.99 "after $30 rebate and instant savings." If memory serves, this would be the cheapest a 680i board has ever been sold for. It's also listed in the circular twice with the same details. I think MC *means* it this time.

Link to Product (lowered price and rebate are now active)

Link to board replacement info page (for a "fixed" board)

Yes, it's still MSRP, and there's no rebate link yet. But I just got this circular today, so perhaps they haven't updated the site yet. And no, this shouldn't be B&M only - people ordering through the web should be able to get this too - just don't be get *too* upset when it sells out and overwhelms their supply and shipping chain.

EDIT: This deal runs from 3/5-3/18 and evidently is the 1-year warrantied "TR" version of the board. Look below for details on how to get a newer revision of the board due to issues with quad-core timings.

Also, tax will be charged in states where MC has a B&M store.

This is a great price. I'm close enough to drive to a store location. When does the ad start? The only ad showing on the site says good though 2-21-07......

my mistake, ended 3/4.....

this is the TR version which means it has only a limited time warranty, as oppose to the AR with lifetime warranty. Also it won't come with instructions and no cables I believe

Why don't you post an image of the ad?

The link you posted isn't really doing anything for us as is.

Guys, this is a good deal especially considering that eVGA is releasing a new revision soon.

If you get the old rev, then you can do an advance RMA With them and they'll send you a new revision.

The new revision fixes the FSB issue with the quad core chips.

"Prices good 3/5-3/18."

And it's odd - the internal picture of the deal doesn't mention it's the "TR" board while the one on the outside does. I can't scan the ad, but it officially starts tomorrow so I'd expect the website to be updated soon to reflect the sale price.

FWIW - Newegg has some good deals for this board in combo with any C2D - $50 eVGA rebate. Net cost of the board, AR, is $170... and I would rather have Newegg over MC on my side when it comes to chasing a rebate.

Also, there is a thread here about the eVGA RMA program for these boards because they won't work with Quad Cores.

While I can understand the hatred for MC's website, I can't say I've ever had a problem with their B&M storefronts besides the fact that it's only worthwhile buying stuff from them when it's on sale.

MC is sort of the Down's Syndrome substitute for the DC area since we don't have Fry's and all the CompUSAs are going to close - the latter of which I can't say I'll lament, but they did have a respectable BYOPC department. It's nice to be able to go somewhere and walk out with a Zalman heatsink instead of having to wait 3-5 days.

it was clear, so what difference does it make if the product is purchased at MC or the egg?

If it was clear, what was the point of your post???

As far as what does it matter where you buy it....

Twice, after delays with a rebate, I have contacted Newegg and they have done whatever it is they do. Both times I got my check within 2 weeks of contacting the egg.

I don't know much about MC but based on their reputation, I'll go with the egg, their service and the $10 saved AR.

I dont think there is a better rebate than a microcenter rebate. I have done plenty of rebates from various companies and I have never had a problem w/ microcenter, and they are usually pretty quick!

The Newegg eVGA mobo that is available as a combo has a different model # (NF63) than the regular eVGA (NF68). Does anyone know the differences between the two boards?

EMO, these are the same boards. If you look at FAQs on the EVGA site, you will see that apparently, EVGA assigned a different designation when they were sold to resellers in some sort of bundle.

Thanks OP, ordered one today. Not too excited about having to spend time and effort for a Quad Core fix, but at least they fix it.
