What's approximately the lowest percentage abv at which an alcholic beverage will stay in its liquid state inside a regular household freezer? For simplification, you can assume that this is a mixture containing only water and alcohol.

This sounds like a homework problem. Also, this has been discussed here before. Did you search?

I tried searching various combinations of freezing, freeze, freezer with alcohol and abv but didn't get any hits. I'm not in college anymore and don't have homework.

Try searching for "ethanol water mixture melting points"

Essentially, with a domestic freezer at -22 C, 40% ABV is on the verge of freezing. And, in all likelihood would freeze by the time the thermostat cuts off the compressor.

If allowed to run continuously, e.g. the fast freeze button is pressed, most domestic freezers will get down to about -30-35C, so 50% ABV would be on the verge of freezing.

Nice, thanks. I essentially wanted to know what temperature was needed to make vodka cubes. ;)
