Pella brand double pane, energy star.

All different in stock sizes. On clearance in all of NE Ohio Lowes and probably nation wide, tho, your millage will vary.

I got all my windows for my house. Example:

32X54" windows normally 150 bucks, on sale for $41.00

Or a 24X38" normally 120 bucks for $30 bucks.

These are a STEAL!!!

If you need windows now is the time to check. I needed a bathroom window and was looking yesterday. and saw some for 30 bucks. I didn't even bother to ask since no one was around. So I called the window department and the Lowes guy didn't even know they were on clearance. I bought windows for my entire house for under 500 bucks, about 12 windows.

The ones I got all had grids.

Good Luck!!!

Any more info you can give would be appreciated! I switched my location to NE Ohio to try and see which windows you found- but all are saying "not sold at this location".

Are they Pella, or Thermastar by Pella? Wood, Vinyl etc?

I'd head over there now but they'd close by the time I got there..... maybe I should measure everything and head over when they open...

They are Vinyl, double hung, and new construction. ThermaStar is the brand Part Number for 32x54 is 111509. The lowes dude told me they are on closeout because they are not Low E. Heck! Anything is better then the crappy windows I have in my house!

I hope some people here find great deals like I did. :D

Thanks for the info- Awesome deal!

I wonder if they're getting rid of more than just those... They show 'not available' for every single Pella in my area- and I *know* there were prices on there just a couple weeks ago...

I'd be annoyed as I just bought 3 windows from Menards, but they were all wonky sized anyway and had to be special ordered so I assume I wouldn't have been able to take advantage of this anyway

No luck here in Florida with clearance of the not Low E windows. They don't even carry the Low E energy efficient windows in the stores, special order only, and all they stock are the regular type, with no plans on clearance or switching to stocking Low E windows. The switching stock to Low E and clearancing regular windows must be a northern thing.

They did try the hard sell by explaining why I should use Low E, but they still would need to be ordered.

I have a small ranch house. 10 main windows total. It would probably take me 30+ years to recoup the energy savings difference in Low E compared to $35 a window that they have in stock not Low E.

I got 10 "Clear Glass" windows. Had to go to a few Lowes to collect them all but wow what a Bargain.

For those that do not know. Lowes is clearing out the Non Low E stuff (Clear Glass) as stated earlier. Lowes is Really clearing them out because they do not qualify for the government tax credit and people dont want them. ROFL. I just saved $1000 in window cost alone.

Remember. Low E window panes are sealed with an inert gas to make them energy efficient. However. Once the gas leaks out, and it will , they become almost like the "Clear Glass" units that are on sale now.

For the most part these are replacement windows. Although I did see some "clear glass" new construction discounted although there werent as many to choose from.

Also check local codes. Here in Florida again, and if you replace more than 25% (?) of your windows, the replacements must be "impact resistant" for Hurricane's, which these are not. That is, if you pull a permit and follow code. (according to Lowes)

My question is, the 30% tax credit or whatever it is, does that also apply towards the labor? If so, it may be worth it to get a better window that's 30% off and also get 30% off the labor. There's no way in hell I would try to install a window without professional help. Any idea how much typical window installation is?

$200 to $250 with capping etc. but its for the windows only and the tax credit is limited to $1500. I already did insulation and a roof this year so my tax credit is gone.

Western NY appears to be a "no." Discounted... 10%? I didn't go in store - I checked on the phone.

Ditto Warren, PA
"Last I heard from Pella, they're just going to sell through what we have in stock without clearancing it."

Well the following had stock and on clearance: West York, Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, Reading, and Sinking Spring. I was at Sinky, Reading, and Mechanicsburg.

All in Pennsylvania.

As long as the window isn't in direct sunlight, regular insulated glass is fine. For high-sunlight windows, spend the cash to get low-e. Unless of course, your current windows blow. Then anything is better :p

double pane makes the house quiet. that's something you get now while you wait your 30 years.

Low E and the window square footage I have makes the payout way past 30 years. Low E really shines on larger area windows or more window surface area period. So I will take my savings and quietness and like it.

Negative.

Low e is a coating/glass chemistry issue.

Inert gas filled, such as argon filled is an entirely different feature.
