Lowes has the Task Force Luxeon LED Flashlight on clearance for $2.50. You need to select in store pickup to see the discounted price.

Link won't even open for me anymore, they might be in the process of killing the deal, so i'd hurry over to lowes and pick some up. I just picked up 5 of them 30 minutes ago, and rang out at 2.50 each 🙂

What batteries does these use? Description doesn't say Luxeon bulb. Probably cheap because plastic instead of aluminum, however those aluminum ones are heavy.

while the lux 1watt led is nice the beam is compete garbage. I bought one a while back and sorry i did. Led has an awful color too.

The MiniMag 3watt led flashlights are loads better, but they do cost more. I've also bought the dorcy 1 watters (the metal gears from walmart) that use 3 aaa batts and they work great for me, better beam than the one from lowes.

Hmm looks like I'm gonna stop by Lowes this afternoon...

Here is a link on candlepowerforums where some people took apart the flashlight:

Judging by the markings underneath the Star ' LXHL-MW1D ', it is:
Product: Luxeon I Star
Color: White
Typical Lumens: 45
Radiation Pattern: Lambertian
Lumens/$: 12.5
Direct Price from Future Electronics Components Boutique: $3.59 ( QTY 2 and UP )
From this site:

Future Electronics Components Boutique was the cheapest Luxeon store I could find.

So if you're just after the LEDs then this is a hell of a deal!

I thought the deal was good through today, but the web site already went back to full price for me.
