There a lot of times a store is cheaper than Walmart.. It would make sense for places like Home Depot and Lowes to have cheaper nails than Walmart because they sell more nails than Walmart.
Target often has lower prices than Walmart because Target, in effort to keep inventories low and their stores clean, has a smaller selection of products than Walmart. But, Target usually has a larger stock of their items than Walmart and often sells more of a single item than Walmart.
However, usually Walmart would be cheaper than the others if you compare their selection across the board. Home Depot would easily beat Walmart on nail prices, but fails miserably when it comes to prices on things like Draino, Damp-rid, and other cleaning products.

There is a Lowe's really close to my cybercafe. It's nice because it has almost everything I could want, but for here in Colorado their prices are sky high. Home Depot pwns the hell out of Lowe's any day of the week. $.02

even ACE hardware is cheaper than Wal-mart on a lot of hardware, and ACE is the fricken most overpriced hardware store known to man.
Yes, but there's a limit to how good the discounts Wal-Mart gets. I'm sure their discounts are pretty nice considering the volume of goods that they buy, but Target has got to be close behind in how much discount they receive, too.Originally posted by: JEDI
walmart is 3x bigger than target in sales. to get better prices, target has to sell 3x the amount of same goods as walmart, no?
