Lowe's and Home Depot are hardware stores for people who want a selection. HD appeals more to contractors, Lowe's appeals more to DIYers.

The only Lowes around here is 50 miles away, while there are 2 HD about 5-10 min driving from my place.

I worked at HD for a summer, there were some hot college chicks there but yes- many wildebeasts.

If you have any real shopping to do, I mean you want to go in and actually buy something, not just browse around in a daze, they are just horrible stores.

HD and Lowes suck for wood.

They have decent hand held power tools, a good stationary power tool or two, and lots of screws.
