lowering volume on subwoofer?

I just got two 10's subwoofers and they are unbelievably loud! All i hear is bass now and I can't lower the darn thing. It was cool for the first 10 minutes while i drove it out, but on my way to work this morning, i just couldn't stand it. How do I lower the volume on my bass? It's already on the lowest on my equalizer.
 
there should be a "gain" switch on your amplifier.

use it to turn it down.

that should work.

A couple days ago, I heard some fvckhead's stereo thumping around here. Hopped in the truck and located the shlt-for-brains dicking around with the box in the trunk of his POS-mobile. He was in Circuit City's parking lot, 30' from a huge sign in giant red letters that said, "no testing sound equipment in the parking lot!" Something like that. I drove up next to him, gave him the cut throat sign, and told him to turn it off. "Oh, sorry." Yeah, I'll bet!

Christ, azzholes aren't even playing music, just noise to annoy people. Yeah, that's cool alright. FVCKERS! :|

This is my newest favorite. High end stereo in the biggest pile of crap ever to roll the streets.

There is a guy who cruises around here, probably has a 4k stereo in a craptacular Corsica that is worth about $147.
 
yes yes...i have to agree. The bass is annoying me now. I think it was "cool" for about 10 minutes. I just wanna rip it now! It drives me insane now! Hope the gain switch works. Maybe I will poke some holes in them if they don't ...haha
 
Why on earth would you buy 2 10" subs for a car??? I have 1 10" sub in my HT room and I only have it set at about 1/2 gain!!! A couple decent 6x9 speakers would probably have given you enough bass.

I had a neighbor that has 5k in stereo in a sub $200 car. The fvcker blasted his stereo all day and night. Even on rainy day, he sat inside his car and blasted his stereo.

I have a 10" Infinity Basslink Powered Sub in my car and it's perfect. It's enough to shake things up when you want, but if you're not in the mood it comes with a remote to turn it down. I didn't want subs that everybody could hear for blocks around.
