Lowering the D 805 multiplier

They must have had an engineering sample or something, the multiplier is locked on the 805.

Hmm, according to the Asus website, this mobo has something called ASUS CPU Lock Free which is supposed to enable lower multipliers. I'm hoping it works on my 805 because all I'd have to do is drop the multi to 18 and raise FSB to 200 to get a perfect OC.

I believe ASUS lock free only works with CPU with EIST (Desktop version of speedstep). CPU supports EIST feature has 14x multi unlocked because EIST reduces multi to 14x under idle. 805 does not support EIST, so its 14x multiplier is not unlocked.

BTW, ASUS lock free is not perfect at all from the beginning. As I mentioned above, you can only unlock 14x multi. You can't select other multipliers, only 14x.
