My file server is on 24/7 and doing my nut in because of the constant whine of all the fans. therefore:

I have just ordered an Antec Sonata case with the pre-cut Acoustipack sound dampening kit with a truePower Antec 380W PSU to help with lowering the sounds from my current set-up.

Please could anyone provide me with a good HS&F which supports Socket A & 939 (upgrade fairly soon). Which is as quiet as can possibly be.

Watercooling is not an option
OC'ing will not be happening

thanks - I've been looking at Zalman, will probably go with this - It looks a lot quieter than my current Thermaltake Volcano 12

might wanna replace the antec psu with one thats more quiet. i think its the sonatas only flaw (noisewise) since you took care of the lack of dampening already.

For quietness, i think silentpcreview recommends the seasonic super tornado 400. Or you could go wild and try the Antec Phantom fanless.

Anything is quieter than a thermaltake.

Either get that Zalman or a Thermalright SLK-947U with a 92mm Ultra Low SPeed Panaflo fan. I have that and i run with all fans at half speed 39C. CPU is OCed to 2.2GHZ with 1.7volts :)
