Lowering my core voltage

Well since my Barton 2800 was running incredily hot (58 at 100% using toast) unlocked I decided to lower the base voltage from 1.65 to 1.5. So my question is, is this a bad move? What will lowering voltage do for me and against me?

It will make it cooler and will most likely make it unstable lowering it all that much but you could be lucky and it may perform fine.

i lower my 64 3000 from 1.50 stock to 1.30 v it passes prime 95 and runs at least 5 degrees cooler. see how low you can get it stable at and use that

1.55v 100% = 52 degrees

That's as far as I'm going 😛 Good enough for me until I get rid of stock fan and sink.
