lowering GT temps

are temps lower with the hsf cover on or off?

I'd imagine they're cooler with the HSF Cover on.

Simply because, its directs the blowing air through the fins, extracting its heat, instead of all over the place.

AHA! i figured out a solution. i have a thermaltake xaser III tower case, which has 2 fans on the side panel. i had both these fans as intakes. i just switched the lower one (closest to the agp slot) to an exhaust, and voila, temps drop 8C at load to 72 😀

Good idea! My case also has a side panel with a fan (came from newegg that way), maybe I can just reverse it and see if my temps drop.

Wouldn't be a bad idea since all its really doing is blowing dust all over my pci slots/video card 😉.
