Lower-End CPUs with SSE3?

So I was reading something about OSx86 needing SSE3. Then i read that XiSO had cracked it to not need SSE3 or TPM. I was curious, so i checked CPUInfo and it said that my 2 year old POS Dell Dimension 4600 with a 2.8 P4 (not HT or EE) has SSE3 capability. I had read previously that only newer high end CPUs had SSE3. Is this true? Does my computer REALLY have SSE3? Will SSE3 speed up the XiSO OSx86?

do you know what core your cpu has? download cpu-z and it will tell you if you don't know. intel chips have supported SSE3 for awhile now, i believe; prescott, maybe even northwood, i dunno. so i would say, yes, you have it. do you need it? i have no idea, sorry!
 
It says prescott and CPU-z also says i have SSe3 so i guess i do...wow...cool...BTW is there any way to do overclocking with a Dell? i REALLY want to overclock my 2.8 to something higher...
 
if you can change your FSB speed in your BIOS then it's possible. don't bother with overclocking software. make sure you have good CPU and case cooling too. prescotts run very hot to begin with, so if you OC, monitor your CPU load temps VERY closely. can't stress that enough. i don't know much about intel cpus so i can't help you much with the temperature threshold you need to be in but you can google that pretty quickly, i should think. just don't get carried away and keep a close eye on temps. the combination of all your hardware- cpu, RAM, power supply and motherboard- will all determine if you can OC much, if at all. maybe look into a new CPU cooler.

nobody can answer u if it really runs on ur comp. do whatever is necessary to test it on ur machine and tell us about it, arrrrrrr 🙂
