pretty intresting article, turns out that that CPU cooler i saw earlier at thermaltake's website was actaully the "thermal module" that cools most of the PC.
its just dumb though, because computers should have been designed this way in the first place, makes way more sense then the placement for ATX.

It's called evolution. ATX wasn't made for PCs of today.

My first ATX case was an Antec that didn't have a spot for in exhaust fan.
It just has a 92mm intake and vents in the back. (PSU for exhaust)

ATX began morphing out of "AT" about the time Pentium-Pro 200 Mhz processors and mobos were appearing on the market. It is amazing that the standard has survived for so long -- but go figure -- an industry standard for expansion card slots, for I/O panels, for motherboard size and mounting holes -- it makes everyone better off for its useful life (as a standard, that is).

BTX simplifies what motherboard ducting does for ATX, or what the Silverstone SST-TJ06 case-with-wind-tunnel does for ATX.
