Whenever some asshole like that emails me I say:

"Listen fvcktard, if you want to lowball someone go to fvcking fleamarket where you get your clothes from."

A little rude, maybe, but fvck em. It's also funny seeing what they respond back with.

There is no harm in asking. Did you set a reserve or a 'Buy it Now' price?

Thats like knowing a used car cost about $10K and then you offer them $3500 for it.
If anyone was looking to buy a set of these wheels, they "know" how much they go for.
I don't know why but these wheels are very popular with the ricer crowd.

Prob. b/c the majority of Civics/Integras sold had steelies. They're just looking for a cheap upgrade.

I would respond back and say:

Sure you can have the rims and tires for $150, and since you said you'll pay for shipping, that'll be $550 total ($150 + $400 shipping). Sounds fair enough to me... 😀

I once had a guitar on eBay for $300 (fixed price). The retail price new without case was $500 and I was selling it in excellent condition with a hardshell case. I mentioned in the auction that I was selling it because I needed the money. Some lowballer e-mails me with "I will buy it right now for $200. Give me your address. You pay shipping!" I responded and told him thanks but no thanks, and told him to lowball somewhere else. He responded saying if I *really* needed the money then I would take his offer, that everyone is down and out and I don't need to post my sob story on the internet. Needless to say I put him on my blocked bidder list immediately.

This annoys the crap out of me. Your starting price is set for a reason and your buy it now is the cheapest on ebay. Then they come over and ask for a 400.00 item for 200.00. I usually reply with something like sure, if you pay 300.00 shipping. THen they get pissed and start saying things like no need for sarcasm..

Tell him if he throws in his 17 year old sister he has got a deal.

Make it 18 and I'll take the deal. Gotta make it legal ya know.

17 is legal in the majority of the states. There's only 15 states in the US where you have to be 18, Florida being one of them. Sucks for you 🙂

i cant stand the lowballers either. i guess i just dont have patience to negotiate... if the first offer is a blatant lowball, i wont even bother to reply.

I had a lowball offer as well, but he just said "I'll give you XXX.XX for that." No dollar sign, just a number, so I said "sure, if you're talking belgium francs....then we have a deal"

Now thats something I did not know.

Just write back and inform him on the fact that eBay is an AUCTION. If $150 is his bid then he should click the "Bid Now" button. Maybe he doesn't understand how it works. heh 😉
