Low write performance on SATA 7K250 RAID0

I have two 120 GB disks in a RAID0 configuration. For some time now, I felt that performance had dropped and running Sandra 2004 revealed that the write index/performance seemed to be low and the recommendation was to check if write verify was off.

I used this as an excuse to perform a fresh install of XP Pro, but nothing has changed - Sandra comes up with a score of between 60~65 Mbps. I think I was able to get 90+ Mbps when I first installed these drives.

Can anyone please tell me how I can turn write verify off?

I have tried some of the Hitachi drive utils, from here, including the feature tool, but this hasnt helped any.

I understand that Sandra isn't the best of benchmarking tools to use. I was referring more to one of the 'performance tips' it came up with.

My question remains unanswered - "How do I turn write verify off?"

I have never heard of this for non removable drives, and have tried in vain to figure out how to turn it off.
