OK so i have a RV with a TV in the front. midway in the RV in the ceiling are two white speakers. I found the line for the speakers with the plug that goes into the headset plug on the TV so the sound gets piped to the middle of the tv instead of blasting the volume on the TV speakers to make up for road noise.

here is the thing, when i plug in the wire i do get sound but it is very low, even with the tv turned up all the way. I unplug the RV speakers and plug in my ear buds and it is loud like it is suppose to be.

my guess is that there is not enough current traveling along about 30ft of wire to drive the speakers.

I thought that maybe the previous owners screwed up the wires. ill try to describe the setup.

the headphone wire is black with two wires. the speakers have two wires (heavier guage) each. so they took one side of the black headphone wire and connected it to two wires for the speakers and took the other black headphone wire and connected it to the other set of two speaker wires.

I thought that maybe they crossed the wires but i just finished with different configuations and they had it right, any other config other there is no sound so i put it back to the way it was.

my question is will a line amplifier fix this problem? does such a gadget exist?

Yes, you need an amplifier.
The output on the TV is meant for headphones, not speakers. Find a small stereo amp, run the output from the TV into it and speaker wire from the amp to the speakers.
