Low timedemo score in doom3???

My rig is listed below. I run timedemo @1600x1200 High quality and score 47.1 FPS. Is this low or average for my system?? Thanks in advance

judging by the hard benchoes, you arent far off

AA/AF enabled? I wouldnt be too unhappy with those scores. my rig would have around 0.1 FPS at that res.

My AA is off, but AF is on 8x. Also, I thought that I should be getting around 50-55 FPS.

I know your problem because I had about the same score, turn VSYNC off! HardOCP ran their benches without VSYNC. Try it and report back.

the thing is, with vsync on, the demo is locked to 30 or 60fps, whichever is closer. keep fraps running and you'll see what i mean. therefore. 40fps goes down to 30, and 75 goes down to 60 etc.

When I first benchmarked Doom 3 my score at 1600x1200 was like 40fps and I was a little worried. Then I remembered that HardOCP didn't have VSYNC on either during the making of their guide. Well, with it off I got 56.5 which matched my system to their P4 3.0C almost exactly. As for tearing in the game with it off, it has only been minor and doesn't distract me during gameplay. Just as Doom 3 doesn't need AA really to still look good, I think VSYNC OFF looks great as well.

Yeah I was worried about the game tearing. However, the game runs great and its barely noticeable.
