Low Temp With P4 3.0c

I'm getting oddly low temps (at least I think they are) with my P4 3.0c and MSI 875P Neo. My cpu temps run in the 16-30 range. My system temp is at 24 and is pretty steady at that. It may jump a few degrees after extended prime95 testing but not much more. This is the second motherboard that I have had that reports these odd temps with this processor. The first was a Biostar P4VMA-M.

Normally, it wouldn't be a huge deal but the MSI board has a utility to control the fan speed based on cpu temp and I'd like to use it. I bought a new board, in part, because of the odd temps I was getting but I'm still getting them. Anyone have any ideas (other than manually controlling fans)?

do the bios updates. I also have a MSI, but its a 865PE NEO-2 PFISR. Before i used to get ridiculous temp measurements even for my presscott (3.0ghz). I did the updates and now my cpu runs at 38 idle, makes sense becuase i put one of those ZALMAN (CNPS 7000, something like that) all copper fans with some AS5.

The program your talking about is the corecnter right? Its pretty useful ,you can actually overclock with thatprogram, and control the rpm of your fans.

To update you bios install "MSI Live Update" program, that program will download the updates, but you will have to flash your bios.

Yup. It's core center. I installed live update but haven't done a bios update, yet. The weird thing is that I'm getting the exact same temps as I got with my old board.
