Low tack plastic protective wrap

Does anyone know where I can get something similar to the protective film used on new appliances? Something that can be easily removed without leaving any sticky residue for long periods.

Looking to wrap the water and ice dispenser area on our new fridge. We have pretty hard water and on our last fridge the area was crusted with calcium and other pretty icky stuff that seems impossible to remove. We've been using saran wrap but it doesn't stay on that well but has helped keep it looking new so far.

Is the area metal or plastic? If plastic, dissolve the deposits with vinegar. You can also apply wax (on the clean surface) to make deposits easier to wipe off later.
