Hi. I am building 8 computers for a customer. I have selected the configuration. It is as follows:
Enlight ATX case (300W PS)
Abit NV7m nForce Motherboard (onboard video/lan/sound)
AMD Duron 1300 MHz Retail
256MB DDR RAM
20GB Western Digital 7200RPM ATA/100 Hard disk
52X EIDE Lite-On CDROM
Sony Floppy Disk
Windows 2000 Pro
17" Samsung Flat Screen 953DF CRT Monitor
MS Internet Keyboard
MS Intelimouse PS/2
Total cost per workstation (including shipping) - just parts (excluding software) was: $540.51 (That included everything, shipping too).
I have run a few tests to gauge the system performance of the system. Being a business machine 3d performance is not vital, but I ran 3dmark2001se nevertheless. The score was a pathetic: 1455 ( @ 1024x768, 32bit color)
My machine at home using a Geforce2 Pro gets over 4000, and the nForce boards come with a Gefroce2 MX built in.
Under PCmark2002, I received:
CPU 3685 Mem 2344 HDD 901
Does anyone have any opinion on this system? Do these scores look right, or do they look a little bit too low for the hardware?
Thanks,
Matt
