low space HD and disk clean up question.

i was running low on space today and a disk clean up icon pop up on the lower right bar asking to free up some more space on my hd with unwanted files and compress some files. having going thought all that, now some of my files appeared BLUE, is it normal, does that indicate my files are compressed? doesnt it loss quality if they compressed?

doesnt that lower the quality of the files? for example, a video file. are there anyway to remedy it to it's original state?

I'm sure it means it turns it into a compressed file, like a zip file. A video that uses a compression codec is pretty much uncompressable by this method.

No my friend. If files are compressed it does not mean that they loose in quality. The compression you are thinking of is something else which does not have anything to do with this.
This means that more PCU power will be used while reading and accessing these blue files.

Did file compression solve your low disk space problem? I guess it would be better to free some Temporary files and also internet files than to compress files.

really..oh great, now my shltty 1.3 celeron cpu's gonna even have to work harder. what about my video and music files, doesnt that lower it's quality?

no it will not change the quality of video file and it generally it compresses less used files. you CPU will have to work harder to read them.
