Low Screen Resolution

I'm currently at work and one of my coworkers has a problem with her PC. The resolution is set extremely low with only 4bits for the picture quality and it can not be changed. I can't seem to access the internet either.

A virus probably?
 
Are your computers networked?
How would a virus have got onto her computer?

Try installing the vga drivers again.
Failing that, try a new vga card.

Did I forget to mention, try that monitor on another system just to make sure. Then if the monitor is fine, change the cables as another troubleshoot.
