hi, running a amd socket 754 3000+ on a dfi nf3250gb mbd and 1.5gigs corsair CAS 2.5 RAM
here are my Sisoft sandra 2005 scores

CPU Arithmetic : 8597, 3294/4277

CPU Multimedia : 19130/20636

memory B/w : 2077/2075

when i compared these scores to an barton xp3200 my cpu LOST ON ALL BENCHMARKS!!!
wats wrong here..please advice

Hmmm,... sounds normal to me. My A64 3000+ at stock clock gets.

CPU Arithmetic 8316 / 2859 / 3698 cpu
CPU Multimedia 17258 / 18570
Memory B/W 5298 / 5234

My OC'd Barton stomps all over my stock clocked A64 in every benchmark I've ever run.

My Barton 3200+ Gets...

Arithmetic :

Dhrystone ALU : 9092 MIPS
Whetstone : 3421 MFLOPS

Multimedia :

Integer : 20531 it/s
Float : 21770 it/s

Memory Bandwidth Benchmark :

RAM Int : 2917 MB/s
RAM Flt : 2736 MB/s

You have 1.5 Gigs of ram? Are they three modules? Sounds like you might be running at PC 2700 (333) with 2t timings (I think if all three slots are filled double sided the 754 will run PC 2700 even if you have PC 3200). Try just two modules (assuming their PC3200) and see what your score becomes

thats true, the integrated memory controller still has problems and well downclock the memory to ddr333 when all 3 mem slots are filled. This could be the reason for you low scores

then wats the point of spending $300bux goin 64bit when my old xp2500 barton did almost as much or the same when overclocked

should have went s939 and oc'd.

Your 3000+ is not running 64bit. It is running 32bit just like the Barton. The 400mghtrz frequency deficiency is more than the better processor can make up.

You should be able to overclock that 3000+ at least 100-300mghrtz on air and see it blow by the xp 3200+

Here are my scores with A64 3200+ winnie @ 2588mhz

CPU Arihmetic: 12020, 4095/5302

CPU multimedia 24721/26607

Memory B/W 6986/6920

'Cause all the fan boyz say the A64 is 50% faster:disgust:

because clock for clock, the a65 is roughly 25% faster. However, 1.8ghz vs. 2.2ghz is a lot of difference. Then again, the dfi is a good OCing mobo, so you should be able to get that thing up to 2.3-2.4ghz with out too much trouble. Then you'll see the A64 pwn the barton.

i know somebody who can buy off the A64 chip and the DFi from me for near cost price. Now is the winchester 3000+with a nf3 skt939board /VIA kt800 a better combination than the skt754 setup i have. also with my skt939 my memory will run dual channel.
If its so can somebody make recommendations on any NF3socket 939 boards???plzzzz
