im getting scores like 24000 in sisoft sandra with teh latest update. These are with 2 wd 200bb ata 100 drives. With my ibms before they went bad (gxp75's) i was getting around 40000. Any ideas?

They are on seperate channels. They are both set to cabel select mode by default by western digital. kt7 faq said that was the optimal way to have them for speed....i may try to set them to single and see what happens tho.

Just some more specs. Im running the 3c bios with the newest highpoint drivers, 4.32 4 in ones. windows 2000 with ntfs. I know ntfs is slower , but it should be this much slower.

One thing you could try to check is the HDD S.M.A.R.T settings. Look at the WD site and see if you can find any info on it. Unfortunately I don't use those drives myself, so I can't tell you if it's enabled by default. Also, make sure the stripe size in the RAID bios isn't way too much lower than 16 kb.

stripe is 64kb, which was the same i used on my ibm's. ill check that smart stuff out thanx. Got i hope i don thave to go back to ibms, they are terrible reliablity but awesome speed

anyone else with comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
