Anybody know of one and/or where to buy one? Find NICS, vid, modems, tv tuners, but no sound. Got a machine here that HAD onboard sound and modem until lightning struck. Tiny little integrated desktop from Gateway.

Those tiny little boxes are like bar tables for playing pool - they suck.

Any of the Sounblaster Live! are good cards, but still cheap.

<<<<-Own Soundblaster Audigy Gamer and loves it.

They are fine by me Jeff7, but that still isn't a LOW PROFILE card. :) Beginning to doubt there is such a sound card although I've read "hints" of there being one by Intel and one by Creative.

Hmm, guess I don't know what a "low profile" sound card actually is. Have any links of what low profile cards look like?

if "low profile" means "cheap" then get Aureal Vortex2, SB 128 PCI, Winfast 6x sound, Yamaha 754, or Aopen soundcard

Low profile doesn't mean cheap. Here is a pic of a low profile video card. They are only about 60% of the height of a standard card - has nothing to do with price. You guys have surely seen these little "book PCs" or similar tiny desktops. Many of them have "low profile" slots which will not accept standard height cards. Some standard height cards can be adapted but not very many and so far I've not found a single sound card in that category.
Thanks for trying guys but I think it's a wild-goose chase.

Yes, but they all seem to be far too expensive. Think I may have found something at Chentech that might work but it doesn't appear to have the correct hanger bracket (guess I could mod it). Don't know much about Chentech though.
