I have a Core i7 860 setup running on a Corsair 450vx and I am looking for a low power graphics card.

I don't game much just the occasional COD. HD Playback is important and I would also like to connect it to my TV at some point.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks!

I second the HD5670, but not that particular one. As was pointed out to me when I recommended it to someone last week, it has display port rather than hdmi, so it's not as useful for televisions, which the OP mentioned.

Good attention to detail. I didn't notice that. Although, you can just get a Displayport to HDMI cable for $8.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Will the card be noisy with the two fans?

Here is a Sapphire HD5670 with 1 larger fan. This card has an HDMI and a Displayport so you have 2 options. If you already have an HDMI cable around, you won't have to buy a Displayport to HDMI cable. At Monoprice.com, an HDMI cable is about $3-4, which is also about $5 cheaper than the Displayport cable.

At checkout enter coupon code: superhot

for $5 off. With rebate, this card comes to $56 with shipping.

That’s a decent PSU that will have no trouble giving its full rated supply. PSU requirements tend to be overblown anyway:

That’s a full system load in the worst case scenario (i.e. Furmark), and still plenty of configurations are under 450W.

What BFG10k said. Even assuming 70% efficiency, you could easily run a 5870.

Anyway... a GTX 460, 5670 or 6670 would get my vote, depending on your needs. How much gaming do you do exactly? You could even get by with less than a 5670.

Thanks guys.. Hardly any gaming at all. In fact I am only now playing bit of COD World at War! I do hope to play the newer COD at some point though.

I would try to find a heavily discounted 5770 or even a 6870 would work fine with your PSU. It's a value PSU from a reputable manufacturer which should put out as much power as a 1000W Diablotek.

The 6870 is probably overkill for his purposes, but a 5770 is not.

Here's one for around $100 AR/shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...deon-hd-6570/4. It all comes down to budget. Either will play COD : WAW, but as for MW3, the 5770 is probably a better bet.

Thanks guys.. I would probably keep the PC on for long periods of time so I would like the idle power consumption to be low..

Any of the ATI 5xxx/6xxx (save for the dual gpu cards) idle within around 10+ watts of each other. Nvidia GTX460 cards and newer cards released afterwards also have good idle levels.
Believe it or not, but a 6970 has a lower idle than a 5770. It's the load levels that make the difference. You're only going to get better idle levels on pathetic gaming cards like the Geforce 430 and 6450 cards.

The problem with a $100 HD5770 is for $15 more you get > 50% more performance in the GTX460. Once the GTX460 is overclocked, it will be almost as fast as a GTX470 which is almost as fast as HD5770 in CF. So it's difficult to recommend an HD5770 for $100.
