Not liking it at all. Some ~50 Chrome tabs just open. Hmm. Can't upgrade memory on this one. Still, not happy to see this message before I run out of all my available ram, any tricks?

Also.

I'm guessing the '19.4GB' is physical RAM + available virtual memory. If so, nothing remarkable. RAM usage in TM with everything closed is more or less what I'd expect from Win10 x64.

I'm not sure what to suggest, apart from cutting back on your tab habit. Some aspects of my Chrome configuration may help, such as setting Flash so it is only enabled when the user requires it and/or as per a site whitelist. I also have 'disable HTML5 autoplay' which is mostly to stop irritating auto-playing videos but I wonder whether it also cuts back on resource usage. I also have ublock origin.

I don't think I've ever seen my apps usage go beyond 4GB RAM (excluding when I occasionally run a VM), but then my browser habit involves closing unnecessary windows and resurrecting anything needed later from bookmarks. I keep a 'dumping ground' bookmarks folder for stuff of temporary interest as well.

Is your virtual memory page file set to an arbitrary size (maybe 12 GB), or allowed to be system managed?

If system managed, how much free disk space is available on the drive used for the page file?

Why I recommend 16GB of RAM for an all rounder. Even my Android has 4GB RAM.

That is strange, as I don't remember running into that one yet. So I started up a bunch of VMs and I got up over 15 GB, and still no memory errors.

Are you doing anything strange with your page file or running a preview build?

Seriously, why do you need 50 chrome tabs?

Click Chrome menu (3 dots) on the upper right corner, then More Tools, then Task Manger.

Find out which extension or tabs use a lot of memory.

I found out the hard way (due to a memory leak), that Windows 7/8.1/10 has a limit on virtual memory size, regardless of disk space available. It's like 2x or 3x physical RAM size.

i get this dumb warning with 1 tab open on my hp stream mini sometimes. i guess it's lack of space on the SSD (which MS loves to fill with updates to win 10 that can't install because there's not enough disk space), because there's plenty of RAM.
