Low image quality!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I recently moved my computer on the floor, since I couldn't stand the hellish noise the fans were making, so I had to change the vga cable, because the original one was too short. So I bought a 3 m long one, but after installing it, my image is distorted. Every word has shadows, the colors seem to be screwed up. I don't understand why is it doing this. Maybe it's not magnetically shielded or something else?
Any ideas are highly appreciated.

It wasn't 1$, it was like 9$. :laugh:

Anyway I never bought a vga cable before so I really have no idea about what to look for. How much should a "real" 3 m vga cable cost?

Unplug it from both ends anc check the pins in the connector. Make sure none are bent and none of them are shorter then the rest. If one of the pins is out of wack it can cause this sort of problem. The same thing can happen if its a fualty cable and one of the wires inside has broken. Also be sure that the cable is pluggeb in all the way.

The shadowing effect if generally caused by the V-sync pin having problems.

With that video card, you should be looking at a digital cable, not a VGA analog cable.

Thanks mpilchfamily, the cable seems to be in order. I just took it out and I'm using the old one. The image regain it's clearness.

OP, i've seen exactly what you are describing. It's caused by a low quality cable, not a length issue. I've used VGA cables up to 50ft. with no image degradation as long as you use very good quality cables.

The cheap cables like what you are using are thin and cheap feeling. The proper VGA cables are very thick and shielded. I'm using a 10ft. male to male VGA cable on my pc right now going into my LCD tv and it's crystal clear.

Most computer stores sell the cheap ones to make more profit. You might have to buy it online from Newegg or Ewiz.

I'm from Europe, so Newegg is out of the question. But I have online stores here too, so I'll take a look and see what I can find. The more expensive it is, the better, right?

Got another cable, a very thick one, with those round cylinders near the connectors, from a store that sells only cables. Now I've lost my 1680X1050 native resolution after installing this one. What the ****???????
