Low HTT Max w/ DFI NF4-D

Hello Group,

I haven't played around much with overclocking in a long time. Put together a system using an Opteron 144 & DFI Lanparty NF4D. Running Micron PC3200 CL3 RAM. Stock HS/Fan on CPU.

The only settings I have changed in the BIOS as it pertains to the Overclocking are Bus Speed and Mem Speed.

Machine Primes Fine for 6+ Hours at 275 FSB / 206 MEM.

However, if I bump it up to 285 and throttle back the memory to 196, it doesn't get past "Verifying DMI Pool Data........." and then it just reboots.

I tried reducing the CPU Mult to see if it was the CPU that was crapping out at 285 (unlikely due to the fact its rock solid at 275). Same problem. So it looks like the Motherboard can't handle 285, which comes as a shock to me as most people have these things running around 300 with no problems. And I bought this motherboard specifically for this reason (after trying out the Asus A8N and finding out it maxed out in the 250s)

Is there a setting a need to change or did I get a dud motherboard?

-Adam
