Even with the volume setting all the way up, the volume is rather low.

I have looked at all the settings on the phone, searched the web, but have not found any solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks

For a long long time I personally fixed this on my S4 with FauxSound, but you need that baked into your ROM (I always used AOKP) for it to work.

You have to go through the adapt sound settings. Just be sure to tap the option where you didn't hear the sound. It should increase your volume significantly after.

Stock player on S4 is horrible. I use poweramp and boost the pre-amp in EQ settings.

You have to go through the adapt sound settings.
This is the answer. It significantly ups the output. But you could also use PowerAmp, which is better than every stock player anyway.

(Also, for some reason Google Play Music has a higher playback volume...)
