Low Fps In Doom and Quake 4

For some reason ever sense I bought my 8600GT for my computer I have been getting very low fps in Doom 3 and Quake 4. Even on low settings. However Stalker runs fine. I am not sure what is wrong. I have the latest drivers and have reinstalled the games but nothing seems to work. any suggestions?

 
The best I can think of is try a different, slightly older driver or googling your problem - like 8600GT [brand name] [driver version] Doom 3.
 
Most of the time, fps problems after swapping video cards happens because of the video card driver. Or specifically, the remnants of the old driver. Try downloading and using DriverCleaner Pro, then reinstalling the driver.
