Low-fat Chinese food, what can I get?

I'm going out with my family to a local Chinese restaurant tonight to celebrate my brothers birthday. I've been trying to lose some weight, so I'd like to get something healthy at the Chinese place. In the old days, I would've got a combo dinner that included boneless spareribs, chicken fingers, beef teriyaki and fried rice:)

Any suggestions for something tasty, but not too unhealthy?

Stick with chicken, and eat it like most asains would. With lots of rice! I usualy eat my thai and chinese foods with 4 to 1 ratio off rice to dishes. Otherwsie it is to fattening. Dunno why Americans like to have the dishes with so little rice. It drives me nuts.

Stay away from the frying and all the cooking methods that use a lot of oil... go with steamed or baked food... This should help somewhat...

stick to more 'traditional' chinese meals and not those 'american-type chinese meals'

Fried rice is not tradition at all

eat more vegetables

I'm thinking about getting the beef and broccoli, hopefully that won't be too bad diet-wise:)

eat lots of rice. make sure that there are chinese people eating in this particular restaurant (not all teenagers) and hope they don't burden you with msg and lard! (vegetable oil is expesive!)

Listen to JayPatel...eating too much rice or breads after 4pm is not good cuz of the carbs. Chinese phood tends to fried alot and they like to use too much grease! Try sticking with Chinese Seafood...such as shrimp...but beware Chinese phood poisoning is ONE OF THE WORST experinces in the world! One helpful tip...the dirtier the chinese place is...the more likely the phood tastes GREAT!
