Does anyone know of a review comparison between low cost USB scanners such as the Mustek 1200, Visioneer 4400/6200, Umax Astra 3400?

I need to get a sub-$100 scanner but no site reviews all of the above, side by side.

I don't know any site.. but why don't you just ask ppl that have one of those?

Personally I have an older AGFA SnapScan (USB)...

I can tell you at that time I bought that scanner it was terrible. I thought it was the scanner, but it wasn't... Agfa brought out a new software, that works great...

Problems and solutions...

I used to have biggest trouble installing that device... I couldn't get the right .dll from the CD included... I had to fool around forever to get that done... well
- now i got that new Agfa software that I install and my scanner works...

Another thing was the resolution... I used to set the resolution at 600dpi to get a decent quality... (those files were like up to 20MB LOL)
- this is gone to... now i have got the same quality at 50dpi or 75dpi...

The old Agfa software supported 3 file types... NO JPEG!!!
- now ScanWise supports .tif, .bmp, .eps, .pct, .jpg, .fpx, .psd, and so on depending on which progs. you have installed... but those are the standard ones...

The software is still not really good, but it is alright...

It fits my needs... And i think it is a fair price... less than 100$!!!

Ok lets find somebody else that has one of thoes under 100 dollar scaners...

if you want some more info or want a test pic... just let me know...
