I wanted to buy a Laptop for around $400 dollars. Wireless(wifi) is important in my decision. Wanted a laptop with AMD 6250 or Nvidia 440m graphics.

The wireless is more important than the graphics. My question is;

Is wifi generally the same on all Laptops that cost $300-500? Are there any models which have better wireless G or N? Will a laptop that cost around $400 be a good purchase to last 2-3 years?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help. The Lenova costs too much. I would think the wifi is superior on it, but I am leaning towards the Tigerdirect as it will be used for games.

The AMD A6 APU series has AMD 6520 graphics and can be purchased for $350-$450.

The wireless is mostly standardized now, meaning it should not be anything to worry about. It is simple to find wireless with both g and n.

Yes, a $400 laptop will last for several years. They are good quality. Easily 3-4 years.

I picked up a Lenovo B575-1450ALU from BB for $299 and it's a great low end budget machine for everyday use. Believe it or not the AMD E-450 plays some 3d titles on low settings with some decent framerates (30ish fps). But the extra $100 you're willing to spend can probably get you into a newer core i5 machine with even better integrated graphics. Tiger recently ran a $399 sale for a core i5.

As far as wifi I wouldn't worry too much as they all seem to work just fine.

I just picked up an HP pro book 4530s. Like $470 on tiger direct. Slightly nicer than consumer laptops.

Got it on ebay for $415 best offering someone for a brand new unit
