My setup is an Intel I7-11700F, Windows 11. Using Edge browser I do a search on Bing.com for "The LIVESTRONG Foundation" but I don't click any link and after a few minutes my cpu temperature climbs to 90°C even with cpu core utilization averaging only 15%. I'm using HWMonitor to monitor temperature. Are you guys seeing high temperature on this Bing search page result as well or is this a fluke? I wouldn't think a static page would consume so much power.

Can confirm the same ~15% utilization in Edge when using Bing for the same search as you. Using Bing with the same search in Firefox results in lower than 1% utilization after the page loads. Edge is doing something nasty, or Edge in combination with Bing.

Your CPU shouldn't jump to 90C just from this load though.

After further investigation it appears Intel's Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is part of the issue. The Intel I7-11700F is an eight core CPU. Intel's Turbo Boost Max 3.0 directs the load from this particular website to two CPU cores and run at over 100% utilization while the remaining six cores remain idle. It is these two cores that reach 90°C while the other cores are much lower.

I replaced the stock heatsink with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO and temperature has dropped dramatically and averages 30°C cooler which I'm happy about. Why and how that particular Bing web page is stressing the CPU so much is still a mystery.
