Low Carb breakfast?

Nature's Own brand Wheat 'n Fiber bread has 7 carbohydrates per slice. That is the lowest I've seen.

Fiber One is the lowest carb brand name cereal.
What is it I'm I missing or just don't know? Looking here, lots of cereals have fewer carbohydrates than Fiber one.

I always eat most of my carbs in the morning, because your metabolism rate is the highest then and it provides quick energy. If I don't have enough carbs in breakfast, then I'm sleepy as hell after lunch.

From what I looked at, it's the lowest. It has 9 net carbs.

Thank you very much for the information. My mom has the book but she lives a few hundred miles away so I couldn't contact her.
What about salmon? Does that have many carbs in it?
Any other foods?

Actually, your metabolism is slowest first thing in the morning because there is nothing for the body to digest until you give it food, assuming you didn't pig out before going to bed.

I've found the exact opposite to be true... I used to get tired in the afternoons, all the time. But ever since I started eating low carb (about 5 months and 41lbs ago), I no longer have the energy swings. 🙂

Yea but gay means HAPPY. 🙂
Considering that I am much happier being 41lbs lighter, having an incredible amount of energy, and getting much improved blood test results.... I guess you're right. 🙂

Still... Watching people post things that they have no idea about, is not a happy event.

I'm surprised no one mentioned salmon as a breakfast alternative. I just looked it up and found that there are almost NO carbs in it at all. Salmon for breakfast also prevents hunger later in the day because it balances the blood sugar level (at least I think that what it was...). Full of protein to boot...woo!

dammit! I am going to get that damn book.

What book should I get?
I am just reading atkins.com. Is there more things in the book?

The book breaks down the process how the diet works, carbohydrates, give you step by step detail how to do induction, OWL, and recipes.

Yeah as of late I've been seeing you post some really non-sense posts. I think Atkins works and if you want to continue (key word) to lose and keep off the weight you have to change your life style accordingly. Which diet tells you to lose weight and then go back to your old ways? NONE! Unless you're on some smoke crack and meth diet.

Hi. Could someone send me a pointer to the book I need to buy? I saw several books by Atkins, it's a bit confusing.
Is there anything substantial in the book, aside from what's on the website? I am going by these 2 pages:
http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-325810.html
http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html
I will buy the book, but I don't have time to read it now.

I bought "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution" from Borders yesterrday for $7.99.

You people will think I'm crazy, but I've been having a salad for breakfast for the last two weeks.

This fat flush plan is hard core, but I've dropped 15 lbs. in 2 weeks and this is coming from someone who has been dieting for 11 months straight with an average of maybe 2 lbs. a week.

With all the diuretics they have you use, they should call it "water flush" not "fat flush", cause your loss is mostly water.

Diuretics? The only thing I know of that could be termed a diuretic is the encouragement to drink dandelion root tea.

Unsweetened Cranberry Juice?
Lemon juice?
Flax seed meal?

Lemon juice and cranberry juice act as mild diuretics, and as mentioned, so is dandelion root. More people use cranberry juice for it's benefits in cleansing the urinary tract.

South Beach Diet is a lowered-carb diet and lets you eat the following for breakfast:

- Lowfat / sugar free yogurt
- Berries, canteloupe, peaches, other fibrous low-glycemic fruits
- Uncle Sam cereal (this stuff is pretty damn good)
- Whole GRAIN bread (whole wheat is mostly a marketing gimmick)
- Eggs
- Canadian bacon / ham (not glazed)
