Low Carb breakfast?

MAME

Banned
I'm trying to find some good breakfast foods that are very low on carbs. All the good foods (bagels, cereal, yogurt, etc.) all have too many carbs.
What are some good foods that have little to no carbs for breakfast?

How about other meals as well?

In an effort to reduce carbs, I've started eating Nature's Own Sugar Free Whole Grain Wheat bread. I've been eating a couple slices of that toasted for breakfast.

Don't be fooled by marketing labels. Just because no additional sugar is added doesn't mean the product is "low carb". Wheat flour is a "no no" for serious low carbers.

Actually whole wheat is usually recommended in small amounts. You want to avoid the processed 'enriched' refined flour, that stuff is useless.

You people will think I'm crazy, but I've been having a salad for breakfast for the last two weeks.

This fat flush plan is hard core, but I've dropped 15 lbs. in 2 weeks and this is coming from someone who has been dieting for 11 months straight with an average of maybe 2 lbs. a week.

As far as eggs go, eating the entire egg is fine? Atkins doesn't recommend you eat only the egg whites?

You should read the book. Wealth of information.

Entire egg is fine. More natural unprocessed fat, the better.

I actually just picked it up today. I didn't want to skip around so I'm reading it from front to back. That's the reason I asked 🙂

I'm not a serious low carber. I'm just reducing extra carbs where I don't really desire them. Instead of white bread or cereal for breakfast, I've got the whole grain stuff for reduced sugar and fiber. I'll still eat spaghetti and stuff, but since I don't really care what I eat for breakfast, it's an easy place to make a small sacrifice.

15lbs in two weaks your losing muscle also not just fat if your dropping that much that fast.

2lbs a week is the target amount you want to lose everyweek because then your not dropping muscle mass...

uhh.. don't you want to be on that 2lbs a week rather than 7.5lbs/week??

Your gonna loose muscle mass while lossing large amounts of weight man, i've never found a way around that. Believe me though, when it comes to lossing weight, lowering your body mass index is a huge help in the long run. when it comes to hunger. It's not at all hard to rebuild what you loose through pushups, sittups and a good jog a few times a week.

low carb diets are gay. Seriously. All you people eat no carbs and lose the weight but then stop the diet and gain it back.
Try eating healthy throughout he day and hit up the gym for real results. Hard. YES! But it pays divedends in the end.

With all the diuretics they have you use, they should call it "water flush" not "fat flush", cause your loss is mostly water.

just eat eggs and bacon if you want.. eggs is a great breakfast.. somethin like tuna or a burger with no bread for lunch.. and steak/chicken for dinner..

stay away from ANY breads..

Might want to read the thread that's stuck to the top entitled Casual anti-gay remarks are not cute or funny, and they will not be tolerated.

That being said, losing weight (no matter how you choose to do it) is a lifestyle change. You cannot lose the weight and then go back to your old ways of inactivity and/or not eating wisely.

But what you fail to understand is that the low carb plans are lifestyle changes. If you do not maintain a healthier way of living, of course you are going to gain weight back. And that's certainly not exclusive to low carb plans.

Back to the original topic... I generally have eggs for breakfast. Most of the time I scramble in some cheese, bacon, sausage, salsa, sour cream, mushrooms, or whatever I have laying around. 🙂

If I am running late, then it's an Atkins Advantage (or other equivilent) bar.
