isn't 5770 a low budget GPU for gaming?
7770 is not much faster to be worth upgrading.
There is 7850 but it is just out of 150$ price tag
You can get GTX650Ti, but again... not a huge improvment

I think your best performance boost may be to add a 2nd 5770 right now.

Going to a 7770 is not a big enough boost for the cost. I think a 7850 would be the lowest I'd go from a 5770. Even a used 5870 would be a big boost.

What Res you gaming at?

I messed around with a a friends 7770 Crossfire setup not long ago at 1600x900 and it worked great at that res, even with just 1GB per card. Would max out Sleeping Dogs.

the cheapest 660 i can find IN canada was at newegg.ca for 180 bucks so the 660 is out. I found a GTX 560 for 100 shipped and according to anandtech bench, ark its ALOT better than my 5770...LINK

im running a 20 inch at 1680x1050. Mobo is only a single PCI-E mobo. keep in mind the 7770 isnt my only option...from the research i been doing the GTX 560 is looking like the best bang for the buck i can get for under 130 shipped to my door...unless you guys have any other recomends for under 150.

my setup:
i5-3570K
8G DDR3 1800hrz RAM
125G SSD
ASUS Maximus IV mobo
550Watt Power supply
CPU watercooling

What kind of Power supply and case do you have? Just curious.

Is your 5770 showing signs of failure? I just upgraded to a 660 from a 5770, but it was really a 'want' upgrade vice a 'need' at 1680 x 1050. I was playing TW:Shogun 2 and Skyrim mostly, so no fps. How long for you to save some more cash to get at least the 7850?

my 5770 is working just fine, just think its time tp upgrade but dont wanan spend a arm n leg. Play games like BF3, DayZ, Minecraft, WoW, Darkfall 2, Final Fantasy Reborn(i got in alpha), Salem, Dont Starve,

Is the 7850 really the superior product right now? If so i guess i can maybe hold out another month...

The 78500gb 2GB version is about twice as fast as the 5770 on the AT bench, the 560 is around 50% faster, so an improvement but imho save for the 7850.

WOAH 2g version...cheaperst i can find was 210shipped for it on pcpartpicker.ca....way too much....would take me 4 months to save up that much since im on a fixed income....560 it is i guess....better than my 5770. Plus GF's PC is getting my old 5770 so she can play WoW on max settings...instead of the onboard graphics she has :p

I just sold my 5770 to a guy locally. I wanted to go with nvidia instead. During thanksgiving I was able to get an MSI gtx 650 on sale for $70AR with 2 free games. Sold the two games and ended up with the GTX 650 for $40AR.

Honestly, the upgrade difference in performance between a 5770 and the 7770 isnt all that great. If you can find a 7770 for $70AR like it was around Thanksgiving, go for it. Past that, dont pay more than $90 for one.

Id just stick with the 5770, thats actually a fairly decent budget gaming card if you ask me. Ive run a 5770 for the past 2 years. Now im on a GTX 650.

There have been a few GTX 650 Ti deals for around $100-110AR I believe it was a few weeks ago, that was pretty nice bang 4 buck as well. That also came with Assassins Creed III which sells for $25-35.

At your resolution the 1GB 7850 is fine. Most games still run fine on 1GB, even at 1080p.

My 7850 is 1GB and I paid $164.99 for it. It's also at 1225 Core, which puts it in 7950 Stock Territory... so yeah, the 7850 is a good card, and is a lot faster than a 5770.
