Low 3DMark2005 Score

People have been posting scores above 5500 with a 6800GT @~ultra speeds. I get only 5000 with the rig in my sig. Why are my scores so much lower then other peoples?

man you should be happy you even get 5000 in 3d mark. I used to get 400 with my old 9600SE! Just be content with what you have as of now. For those that score higher, its because they have a better processor, better latency on their ram, more ram, a PCIe mobo, overclock their card, or etc etc.

They may be using 71.xx series drivers, which boost shader performance. I get 4904marks @stock with VXG 71.20 drivers. This modded drivers are great, and have the best IQ I've seen with Nvidia drivers by far. Try them, you can download them from Guru3d.

Agreed, Ive tested alot of drivers and I currently am content with the 71.24 set.

some sets would actually lock my fps in some games t0 85, which is my refresh rate.

also, if your using an A64 chip, loose timings will result in a lower score.

I get a higher score with timings 2,2,2,10 @ 2.6 and DDR@ 333 (160 divider)

DDR433 @ 2,3,3,8

these statements are just my opinion from tests ive ran on my own hardware ymmv

Im using the 67.65's because the 71.xx'es all had HL2 IQ problems. Yellow water, red/white lines with AA, etc. I thought it might be drivers but i'm not going to change them unless they fix these issues.

VXG 71.20 have no IQ issues at all in HL2, water is perfectly clear.
