My score is too low with my new upgraded system: AthXP 1800+ (1533mhz), 8KHA+, PC2100, Ti200 (not overclocked), det 22.50, WinXP:

3dmark: 5990

I didn't install the VIA 4-in-1, thought it wasn't necessary with WinXP. Looks like people with comparable systems are getting around 7200. What should I do?

One more piece of info: the Nature bench in particular seems slow...like 19fps. Don't know if that helps...

I had the same thing happen to me. I tried everything everyone recommended and alot of other stuff still getting the same low
score of 4950 with a Tbird 1.5ghz. I finially broke down and ordered a Radeon instead.

Yes, Xp does come with a pretty new set of 4 in 1 drivers, but i would definitely install the newest via drivers. the 4.10 agp driver alone raised my scores 600 points.

Made a little progress...uninstalled GeForce Tweak Utility and got up to 6660. No idea what it was doing, but whatever it was, it was bad.

duk: Did you verify that you weren't 'forcing v-sync'? 9 times out of 10 it's the cause of lowered 3D scores on new machines. Most drivers enable it by default - as do most tweak utilitues. I use PowerStrip (great tool) and it enabled v-sync by default.

I've noticed the core on the video card makes more of a difference in 3dmark2001 than any game out there, and the Ti200 has a core clock of 175, kinda low compared to other gf3 cards. My Ti200 goes up to 220 core no problem, I think if you up the core your score should improve by a good amount.

some food for thought here.
I had a radeon in my machine until this afternoon.. (64 ddr vivo). The highest score I could get was 3198 at normal clockspeed

I bought one of those geforce 3 ti 200 cards today at BB. Installed 2250 detonator drivers and default options, first pass=5679 marks

I tweaked the card a bit more and now I am getting 6228 marks @ core 225/memory 465.
This is on an athlon @ 1.2 ghz, 384 mb ram, Xtasy Geforce 3 ti 200.

i just tried the 22.8's. my 3dmark2001 score went up slightly, and there are no real stability problems. i get about 7550 on the system in my sig. the newest via AGP driver actually lowered my score, so i am going to reinstall the previous version and see what i get.

Uninstalling the tweak tool did the trick. My scores are now in line with most people on madonion.com. Thanks for all the input!
