Hi,

I just finished building my rig and ran the free 3D mark 06 Advanced Edition 1.1.0. I was fairly dissapoint at the 8890 score I got :( I am wondering if I did anything wrong?

I ran the SM2.0Graphics test + CPU test @ 1680x1050 2AA.

Below are my system specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Clocked @ 3.0 GHz [Using built in Extreme Tweaker settings]

2x1GB Corsair TWIN2X20488500D
Corsair TwinX 2GB DDR2 8500DOM

NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB Driver 6.14.11.7474

Rampage Formula
Version Rev 1.xx
BIOS Version 0219

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Just a bit miffed at the results :(

You wanna make the OP jump out the window, don't you? :p

OP, most of the 3DMark06 scores you see are run @ default, which is 1280x1024, no AA. So, naturally, your score @ 1680x1050 w/ 2AA will be lower.

ahhh I see :p Well I guess I will play around with the settings and see how much I can push it. This is meant to be a gaming rig and I was hoping to push over 10k :p My work rig with E6600 managed to shift nearly 9k overclocked :p

Get a better video card.

Yeah this is borrowed from my mate :p Waiting on the new ATI 48xx series or maybe Nvidia gt200. Might think of going Xfire if the results are beneficial enough.

Well, hopefully with some tweaks I would be able to raise the score abit

yea as stated , 1680x1050 2AA is a pretty demanding. i am willing to bet when you switch to 1280x1024, no AA you will see ~13,000 3dmarks.

Hmmm, just another question, what is the best OS out there for gaming? I am currently still using XP pro. Is it worth it to upgrade to Vista at the moment?

I'm sure XP is still faster to run any games out there. I was just reading a review comparison of a few of the latest games running on XP vs Vista. On Vista, games were losing around 10-20fps compared to XP.

At default settings you should be getting between 10,500-13,000 range. :)
