I have an Intel E6300 1.86 ghz cpu. I've had it for almost 2 years now. When I first received it the stock cooling fan would fall off, and several times it would shut off immediately after starting it, I assume due to the heat. After doing that a few times, I replaced the stock with a much better aftermarket cooler. And for most of the time I've had it, I had a video card which required a couple amps more than what my psu supplied, which apparently was slowly burning out and damaging the video card. I'm not sure if this lack of enough amps for the video card would affect the cpu though.
When I tried 3DMark06 with my old video card the CPU tests would result in usually 0.5 fps. I just got a new 4850, and the CPU portion of the tests still result in that very low framerate.
Is my cpu damaged? Should it be performing better on the 3DMark06 cpu test than less than 1 fps?
