low 3d mark with ti4600

iam running a custom made:

2.4ghz p4
gigabyte SiS645 333mhz mobo
512MB DDR333 PC2700
Albatron Geforce4 Ti 4600
80GB Barracudda IV

I ran 3dmark 2001SE 2-3 times and got around 8700. My friend had a AthlonXP 2200+ and a ti4200 and still outperformed me! Any ideas why the score is so slow? Im running the latest Detoneator 41.07 drivers.

A few things....

Turn of all background applications, set all 3d card quality settings to medium, turn off AA and AF, maybe defrag HD, other than that, I don't know.

ok, tried turn all background apps down anse set the quality down, got around 8900. im wondering, is it the SiS645 chipset slowing my whole system down?

Make sure your SiS AGP driver is installed correctly.

Turn off V-Sync?

*EDIT* BTW, the latest Detonators are 44.03's but that's not the problem, different drivers barely make a 1% difference.

turn off FSAA and AA and set the card into performance mode

i just descovered that i had af on 4x so i think thats why . Anyway, thanks for the info.
