In Florida we have F-CAT (Fla. Comprehensive Assessment Test) for our grade 1-12 students. I think the students are tested three times over the 12 year period. Our state hasn't been doing too good compared to the other 49. Seems there were 8-12 questions that were causing a lot of trouble. Plus the math test was given before the reading test and reading scores were terrible. Well, people, here is the best they could come up with: Extend the alloted test time by 10 minutes, remove 4 of the more difficult questions and give the reading test before the math test. I guess that teaching them wasn't one of the options.
