I know this deal isn't for everyone... but I did it! If you DON'T MIND REBATES, this is a rebate heavy deal. Ok. Trying to combine some deals.

TDK 74Minute 100PK Cakebox is $39.95 then $20 rebate.
Kingston 64MB PC100 CL2 DIMM $32.95 then $10 rebate.
Kingston 64MB PC133 CL3 DIMM $22.95 deal of the day.
Kingston 128MB PC133 CL3 DIMM $54.95 then $20 rebate.

--- total --- $39.95 + 32.95 + 22.95 + 54.95 = $150.80 which gets you qualified for a $30 existing customer coupon. My total comes out to $120.80 then $7.01 Standard shipping.

Then I have two kingston rebates ($10, then $20), and a TDK rebate ($20). Final cost, $70 for 256MB of RAM! The CD-R's are just frosting on the Cakebox [grin].

Heres another good deal which I'm going to get. Get the PC-133 Value ram and the Quantum 20.5 gb 7200 hard drive The total would be $170.90. Now use the 30 of 150 buy.com coupon (Techbargains) to bring it down to $140.90. Then use the PC-133 rebate and this $20 rebate for the hard drive: Quantum Rebate Form So the total price for PC-133 memory and a 20gb hard drive $100.90 + s&h and tax.

By the way, before I buy, is the Value Ram good?

Is it any good:
Yes, it is good VALUE. It isn't the fastest. Frankly, Kingston has been shipping every brand they can find lately. On the PC100, I purchased Kingston PC100 128MB 3 times, got 3 different brands!... who knows!

They do have lifetime warrenty, and I think they are very good at dealing with warrenty / compatibility problems.

They are the best "brand" of the repackagers. Easy stuff to resell later when you want to upgrade.

Nice deal.

Multiple Kingston rebates are ok as long as the offer#'s are different. I've got four Kingston RAM rebates approved and waiting to be sent to me.

I wonder if there is a rebate on the DOTD 64MB PC133.

Good deal MrVW.
I got in on the 100 TDK deal in Nov-Dec, received the rebate 2 weeks ago. Pretty fast. Also got in on the 128 mb PC133 ram. If I hadn't purchased the previous two I would probably get in on this deal. My Value Ram was Infineon chips, but nowdays the chips could be Winbond, IBM, Nanya or Infineon. But it's still a "good deal". Thanks for the post, others will benefit.

Curtis: If you get 2 DOTD 64M, you will be $10 short for the coupon... that is why the deal makes sense to get the PC100 that has the $10 rebate.

Is buy.com "...one of Quantum's Authorized Marketers located in the US..." as specified in the terms of the rebate?

Of course you can run 100 and 133 at the same time. I'm doing it right now. :p

The quantum deal now has a new thread.

What the heck you mean you can't use PC133 and PC100 at the same time.

Heck PC100 CAS2 = PC133 CAS3 ... pretty much the same thing.

Of course you can use PC-133 and PC-100 at the same time. They are the same thing, just one is rated to work reliably at the higher speed.

It's exactly the same as the difference between a P3-700 and a P3-800. Same thing, just different test result.

Cheers,
-Dave

I bought 256mb of PNY for $101.95 and a 128mb stick of the Kingston @ $51.95. After using the $30 off $150 and the $20 Kingston rebate, My total cost is $103.90 + shipping and Tax.

Total after everything = $120.13 for 384MB PC133 RAM.

That's basically $.31 per MB

Price watch's PC133 is $76 shipped for PC 256MB and it's Generic, which is $.29 per MB, but you can't use that in everything (especially if you have an Athlon).

Better RAM, better retailer, a good deal.
