recently my parent's machine 754 dies on them. Originally wanted to get them a intermediate like Asrock core4dual but decided just to start fresh.
Here's the shopping list:
1. MX4000 PCI card - $7AR
2. Corsair XMS2 - 2x1GB - $35AR
3. HardDrive, DVD burner - from old machine
4. HSF - AC freezer 7 pro - $25
5. CPU (E2140 retail), m.b. (IP35-E) - $150AR
6. PSU - from old machine (Antec 350W)
======
about $250 or so total.
Result:
just build it yesterday, this IP35-E is totally impressive. It's cool, quite, along with corsair ram and AC freezer, the whole setup look really nice, I open cased it to make sure the cooling is okay on this setup.
Surprising part is I right away put it on 350FSB//2.8Ghz and it ran without a hitch at 1.25v!! all the power saving worked like a charm too. Ran ortho for an hour, then memtest86+ for another hour. Passed everything easily. I don't plan to OC more until I get a decent 500W to cover the system still waiting for that $30AR deal for Earthwatts 500.
Anyways, overall, this build is the most satisfying of my recents builds thanks for IP35-E. I put the machine on standby mode, now my mother is like ... how can this thing start up so fast!! She's totally blew away. Considering the amount of extra horse power this thing has, I am planning to install Glassfish on it so I can write some custom JSF apps for their daily use. It's just an excellent performing rig. Overall, very good experience!
