like have a barb on the opening of my reservoir with tubing to the top of my case + a fillport?

i dont really see a need for that, as i dont need to refill my loop very much. and i can easily por into the reservoir right from where it is inside the case...

But the HAF has a fillport on top! USE IT! 😛

haha it'd cost me about $20 to buy everything: XSPC fillcap adapter, g1/4 barb, fillport + shipping. $20 so i can pour water in from the top of the case instead of opening the door? lol

we'll see.. maybe if i happen to need something else from jab-tech.com

You *NEED* to buy 2 MCP355's,2 XSPC tops, and 2 120.1 TFC XChangers. And some tygon 7/16". 😛

LOL your already looking at parts on jab-tech, i think im gonna win. 😛

Louis what about a temp probe and display? So you can see what your watercoolant temps are in real time 24/7.

*im expecting his eyes to light up really bright and go how??? after reading that one*

although i wouldn't mind adding or changing stuff to my loop, i dont feel that adding in-line temp monitors would matter to me. i monitor my temperatures through HW Monitor and Speedfan. it gives me all my core temps + my gpu core temp. thats all i care about.

What is the point of monitoring water temperature if my core temps are what matters?

i also may not get that fllport + fillcap adapter. i can fill my loop with the bottom half of a syringe used as a long funnel. works fine for filling up my reservoir every now and then.

compression fittings would be nice, but what i REALLY want is something that allows me to remove my tubing from the fitting very easily. Its a pain in the ass to remove tubing off my 1/2" barbs and i always have to cut about an inch off of each tubing section. as of right now, my tubes are at the bare minimum length (except for pump-rad) and i cannot shorten them anymore or else that section would have to be re-done. any tips on what i can do/get to remove tubing from barbs easily?

How comes you have to remove a section of the tubing when you pull it off the barbs?

I've removed my 7/16" ID tubing off the 1/2" OD barbs quite a few times (plus the tubes were clamped on to the barbs with worm gear clamps) without damaging the tubing. Okay I may have stretched the tubing a little (and it would be a very very small amount), which may have reduced the wall thickness by an order of magnitude of 0.001", but so what.

Is it that the wall thickness of your tubing is thin and prone to damage?

what would u guys think would be a good addition to my loop:

8 x compression fittings to replace all the normal fittings? (46 shipped from SW)
1 x MCR220 radiator to add onto the loop + 2x Swiftech High Flow fittings? (50 shipped from SW)

i have no idea, but no matter how hard i pull on the tubing with the fitting in my other hand, the tubing will not come off. this is 7/16" ID masterkleer tubing on 1/2"OD fatboys.

Personally, between the two options I would add the second rad rather than going for compression fittings. This because the second rad will improve your loop performance, whereas the compression fittings will likely not.

On a side note I'm not sure why you have compression fittings as a option; is this because ease of use?. Any way, normal barbs with worm gear clamps will not leak. The failure point is the o-ring on the barb where it screws into the component (without the o-ring you are relying on the thread for watertightness). You would have this same potential problem with compression fittings. I would also trust the watertightness of a standard barb and clamp where the tubing clamps on to the fitting, more than I would a compression fitting, where you are reliant on the tubing having the correct internal and external diameter and the "compression nut" being tight, but not too tight that it deforms the internal o-ring.

yea i have had some leaks and they were always at the o-ring and threads part of the barb. they were fixed by further tightening the o-ring.

if i were to get the 2nd rad, i'd be worried that my pump can't hand 2 swiftech MCR rads, a GTZ and a EK Full cover block.

I would tend to disagree on the compression fittings. I started off on barbs and within a week I went to compression fittings...never leaked, really good looking and no more zip tie/worm clamps to deal with.

gives you one more thing to debug with if and when something goes wrong.

or incase your bored and your wondering how hot my coolant temps are.

It looks very good. Very clean and neat setup for WC. Good job!
