whats driving them?

you want to look for something with high sensitivty
 
then go to amazon, search for powered speaker and find one that fits your need

$100 wont get much


or just get a soundbar
 
unfortunately when it comes to sound, it costs a bit to get started

audio engine makes pretty good powered speakers
they start @ 250 a pair

you can get a cheap receiver on craigs list and then look for speakers
craigs list will at times have good deals on used speakers also
 
you don't get volume without caring about quality

cheap shit speakers cant do volume,

a PA speaker like was linked above is about a cheap for volume as you are going to get

What loud speakers are you going to use for ? TV or Computer? for Price under $100, it's not easy to find in Amazon but I found some info here.
