Loud system with AMD XP?

Ok boys, time for the noob question again.

I have a Celeron 500 system and it's time to make some radical changes.
Would a AMD XP system be louder since the XP runs hot and needs lots of cooling?

<--- Do not like 65dB of background noise.

If you're not o/cing you don't need a lot of cooling, there are some quiet CPU fans out there. Get an Enermax PSU and that will keep down the noise too.

even stock, an amd xp system will be louder than a p4 system. not only does the chip itself require more cooling, but a bigger power source requires more cooling, and a hot case requires more airflow.

P4 < 40W
XP > 70W

You can probably get away with using a really quiet 250W power supply for the P4 or with a quiet 300W if you're going to overclock.

Nope. You're gonna require a new power supply that is ATX 2.03 ready.

Wrong. Enlight makes v2.03 250W power supplies that are adequate for P4 systems.
